So Finally back to the question: Which Use year is best for me?
Well let’s begin by reposting the use year and banking timelines:

The trick is to pick something where your core travel is still super early in the use year. I would say 4 months before your travel would be the absolute max. If you’re going in August, then maybe April or earlier is a good use year for you. ideally I would try to get something 2 months before. That’s enough that you can a lot of cushion, but not so far out that you feel pressured. I said 4 as a max, because really having ~7 months to use it is horrible if you end up with holding points. At 2 months you don’t really care there’s plenty of time.
Be very careful. your use year is probably THE most important thing to decide. You cannot take it back and require DVC managerial overrides to purchase out side that use year. Their systems will transform contract in the future to match use years.
But people own a lot of use years because they have different travel needs. you just want to make sure the use year is working for you, not against you!
